Everything is ready to work in the CVC-UAB Autonomous Car

  • The CVC already has the electric car ready for the Autonomous Driving.
  • The aim is to implement the algorithms developed during the last 10 years of research and work on new challenges.

The electric car of the ADAS group (Advanced Drivers Assistance Systems, http://www.cvc.uab.cat/adas) CVC is prepared for the challenges of autonomous driving, thanks to the collaboration with CERCA, ASCAMM (now in EureCat) of ENISOLA and Tecnoferraris. A computer in the trunk of the car has been installed. It will act as the driver from the perception of the environment. This perception is largely based on computer vision techniques.

In parallel we have developed a simulation environment for testing without having to put the vehicle into circulation, ensuring maximum safety in all initial experiments and demonstrations.

This weekend we have been in the NOVUM 2015 science festival where we could test the simulator in front of the citizens of Barcelona. It has had a great acceptance among the visitors who have been very interested in the topic, hoping to get to see these cars circulating in the city in the future.

Planned activities:

  • MEMEnginy15 in the School of Engineering at UAB

It is an annual event organized by the students of the school of engineering at UAB. This year will be held on April 29 all day.

9: 00h to 14: 00h, in the hall of the school, you can find an exhibition of applications i demonstrations of different companies and research centers linked to school. The CVC will present the demonstrator autonomous car ADAS group where researchers will be available to explain and clarify any information regarding your project.

  • International Motor Show. 8th Technical Symposium on intelligent vehicles: CAR CONNECTED

The Society of Automotive Technicians (STA) organizes the 8th Technical Symposium on Intelligent Vehicles.

The event will be attended by many companies and industry bodies.

Dr. Antonio Lopez, leader of the research group ADAS give a talk entitled “ACDC: Automated and Cooperative Driving in the City” on May 14 at 17: 20h at the Fira de Montjuic.
